The Erasmus+ C.A.R.E project uses ceramics as a tool to foster creativity and highlight the needs of blind and visually impaired young people. Through inclusive workshops held in Italy, Greece, Cyprus, Ireland, and Poland, the project has involved vision impairment experts, ceramicists, and educators to offer participants a unique artistic and educational experience. A key aspect of the initiative was the international training hosted in Poland in 2023, providing a program for educators and vision impairment experts to develop specific skills in approaching blindness and preparing for the ceramic workshops. In 2024, in Italy, blind and visually impaired young participants from different countries came together to share experiences, socialise, and grow within a multicultural and inclusive environment. Thanks to C.A.R.E, participants had the opportunity to explore creativity and hands-on practice, enhancing their tactile skills and building greater self-confidence, making the experience not only an artistic journey but also a potential stepping stone toward future professional opportunities in arts and crafts. At the end of the program, the works created by the participants were showcased to the public through exhibitions and events in the different partner countries, giving visibility to their talent and creativity. C.A.R.E is not just a project, but a journey of inclusion, expression, and personal growth.
